Chris Pratt's Halloween plans have one persistent complication: his children keep changing their minds about what to wear. A shocking display of indecision from four young people presented with unlimited fictional possibilities.
The 47-year-old actor told E! News that any costume answer he gives could quickly become outdated. Pratt and his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, share Lyla, 6, Eloise, 4, and Ford, 23 months. He also shares 14-year-old Jack with his former wife, Anna Faris.
“I could give you an answer today, and it would not be the right answer,” Pratt told Will Marfuggi during an interview alongside his The Terminal List co-star Constance Wu. “Because they’re constantly changing their minds.”
Lyla and Eloise have recently been wearing matching purple space cadet outfits around the house, complete with rockets on their backs. Pratt said the costumes resemble NASA astronaut gear, though their frequent use may have reduced the chances of a Halloween appearance.
Ford currently plans to dress as a pumpkin. Jack, meanwhile, has chosen a classic Seattle SuperSonics jersey, referring to the NBA franchise that later became the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Constance Wu has the same costume problem
Wu, 44, said her two children with partner Ryan Kattner are also revising their choices. Their 3-year-old son had repeatedly said he wanted to be a ghost before suddenly switching to Bluey.
“My son has been saying he wants to be a ghost,” Wu said. “But then yesterday out of nowhere he says, ‘I want to be Bluey.’”
Their 6-year-old daughter prefers music to anything spooky. A Blackpink fan, she wants to dress as Rosé and is trying to secure the necessary platinum-blonde wig.
What Pratt said about The Terminal List
The costume discussion came as Pratt and Wu promoted the second season of The Terminal List, in which they play James Reece and Katie Buranek.
Pratt said the action series tries to keep Reece grounded rather than presenting him as an invincible hero. “He’s a guy who’s got a great skill set and can get out of difficult situations, but he’s not immortal,” he explained.
Season two is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on Oct. 21, with all eight episodes released at once.
