Sean “Diddy” Combs was taken to hospital after a reported Diddy prison brawl at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, according to TMZ. The 56-year-old former music executive allegedly suffered a serious head injury but remained conscious during treatment.
The incident reportedly happened on Friday night, with Combs transported from the federal prison at about 1am on Saturday. Officials have not publicly confirmed the circumstances or provided details about his condition.
What reportedly happened at FCI Fort Dix?
TMZ reported that Combs fought with fellow prisoner Christopher Coke, a Jamaican crime boss also known as “Dudus.” Coke allegedly confronted him over claims that Combs had been causing trouble for other inmates.
The confrontation was described as violent, although the exact sequence of events remains unclear. Reports said Combs sustained a “severe” head injury and required hospital treatment. He was conscious throughout, according to the same account.
This would not be Combs’ first reported dispute behind bars. In July, he allegedly fought another prisoner after the inmate insulted him. That incident reportedly resulted in a spell in solitary confinement, the prison system’s traditional method of ensuring everyone has plenty of time to reflect.
Why is Sean Combs in prison?
Combs is serving a 50-month federal sentence after being convicted on two counts of transportation for prostitution. The charges involved his former girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, and another woman who testified under the name Jane.
Prosecutors had accused him of operating a sex-trafficking enterprise. Combs denied the allegations against him throughout the case.
In July 2025, a jury cleared him of the most serious charge, racketeering conspiracy. He was also found not guilty of two sex-trafficking charges involving Ventura and Jane. The jury convicted him on the two transportation counts.
Along with the prison term, Combs was ordered to pay a $500,000 fine, equivalent to roughly £371,000.
When is Diddy expected to be released?
Combs spent approximately 13 months in custody during the legal proceedings, and that time counts toward his sentence. His projected release date was initially listed as May 2028 but was later moved forward to January 21, 2028.
That calculation would leave him serving about three additional years after sentencing, subject to any further changes by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Separate reports have claimed that Combs has enjoyed unusually comfortable conditions while incarcerated. Unnamed sources alleged that he has had access to a phone, alcohol and a tablet used to watch films. Those claims have not been independently confirmed, and federal prison is not generally marketed as a premium entertainment package.
Neither prison officials nor representatives for Combs had publicly verified the reported fight, hospital visit or allegations about his treatment behind bars.
