The Samie Elishi pregnancy announcement has confirmed that the Love Island star is expecting her first child with Tyrique Hyde. The couple shared the news on 19 October 2026, posting footage from an ultrasound appointment and a glimpse of their scan.
The video showed Elishi and Hyde smiling at the sonogram before kissing, with Jodeci’s Forever My Lady playing in the background. Elishi captioned the post with a white heart, while Hyde wrote: “Don’t make a scene. Can’t wait for this next chapter. Love you @samieelishi.”
Their baby is expected in spring 2027. Bintano News reported that the scan image indicated a planned birth at London’s private Portland Hospital, although the couple have not separately confirmed their delivery arrangements.
How quickly did the relationship develop?
The timetable is brisk even by reality television standards, an industry not generally troubled by slow announcements.
Elishi and Hyde reportedly became acquainted while appearing on the third series of Love Island: All Stars in early 2026. Elishi won that series with Ciaran Davies, securing 35.22% of the public vote. Their relationship ended around three weeks later, in March.
By 27 March, Elishi and Hyde had been photographed together at a Baller League match. Reports differ slightly on when they officially confirmed the romance, but both Goss.ie and Bintano News place the public launch in April, during a trip to Morocco around Hyde’s birthday. That is earlier than some accounts suggesting the confirmation came in May.
Hyde had already spoken warmly about Elishi before they started dating, repeatedly naming her as his favourite Islander. In June, he also said he had rejected an invitation to appear on Love Island USA because of the relationship.
“You know man turned down Love Island USA this Summer for my relationship,” he said.
Seven months after the first public sightings, the couple are preparing to become parents.
What happened in Samie Elishi’s previous Love Island series?
Some early reports muddled Elishi’s reality television history, because apparently the programme’s expanding network of series now requires administrative support.
Elishi first appeared on the winter 2023 series of Love Island, where she coupled up with Tom Clare. They finished third. Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan won that season.
She did not win the 2023 series with Davies. Elishi and Davies instead met during the 2026 edition of Love Island: All Stars and won together. Davies later described their villa relationship as “good” and “genuine”, but it ended shortly after filming.
Hyde appeared on the summer 2023 series of the main programme. His eventual relationship with Elishi therefore brought together two contestants from separate editions of the same year, followed by an All Stars encounter and a rapid post-villa romance.
How did other Love Island stars react?
Former Islanders quickly filled the announcement’s comments with congratulations and the expected allocation of capital letters and crying emojis.
Dami Hope wrote: “OMFGGGGG … congrats my family.” Yasmin Pettet and Ellie Chadwick also congratulated the couple, while Megan Fort Clarke posted: “OMG congratulations you two.”
Joe Baggs added that he was “beaming ear to ear”.
Elishi and Hyde have not announced the baby’s sex or provided a more precise due date. For now, they have confirmed only that this is their first child and that the arrival is expected in spring 2027.
