Savannah Chrisley married Jason Galanis on July 14 at the Cayman Islands Baptist Church, according to marriage records obtained by People. The paperwork surfaced two days after the former Chrisley Knows Best star announced that she was engaged and expecting the couple’s first child.
Chrisley, 29, had not publicly identified Galanis, 56, as her husband. In fact, she did not share his full name or call him her fiancé during the Oct. 27 episode of her Unlocked podcast. Marriage records, being notably less discreet than celebrity announcements, filled in the missing detail.
How did Savannah Chrisley and Jason Galanis get engaged?
The couple became engaged in the Cayman Islands last December after five months of dating. Chrisley said Galanis had carried a ring in his backpack without her knowledge.
“Jason was getting a charger out of his backpack,” she recalled on her podcast. After he left a box on the counter, she wondered whether it contained what she suspected, although she was not certain.
Galanis proposed the next day while they were at the beach, presenting her with an oval-cut diamond.
“This can be whatever you want it to be,” Chrisley recalled him saying. “This can be an engagement ring, a promise ring, a cocktail ring, for all I care. I just want you to know how much I love you.”
She described the proposal as “everything” and said she would not trade the private moment because “it was us.”
Why is another wedding planned for 2027?
Although the records show they are already legally married, Chrisley said a wedding had been scheduled for Jan. 9, 2027. That event has now been moved to May 2027 because of her pregnancy.
“It was going to be a phenomenal time, it still is going to be a phenomenal time,” she said, explaining that the couple had received “the surprise of a lifetime.”
Chrisley announced the pregnancy alongside the engagement news on Oct. 27. In an Instagram video montage featuring Galanis, she wrote that she finally felt “safe” and “fulfilled.”
“I found my forever in you,” she wrote. “And just when I thought my heart couldn’t hold any more love, God gave us our sweetest blessing yet… we’re having a BABY!”
Why did Chrisley keep her husband’s identity private?
Chrisley, the daughter of Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley, said the couple’s 27-year age difference influenced her decision to keep the relationship quiet.
“There is a huge age gap there,” she said. “That’s probably part of the reason why I kept a lot of it quiet, because I know how brutal the public can be. But I genuinely do not care.”
Galanis was identified publicly after her announcement. In 2004, Forbes labelled him “Porn’s New King” because his company was then described as the largest processor of online pornography payments in the United States.
