We’ve all seen what’s affectionately known as “Chinglish” dotted around the internet in various memes and the like.

Rather obviously, “Chinglish” is a shorthand way of saying Chinese-English, and is often the source of constant ridicule. This is because the result is usually the direct, literal translation from the Chinese characters to English words.

This leads to accessible toilets being labelled insensitive things like “deformed man bathroom”, and dogs being called “explosive”, for some reason.

With that in mind, these mishaps cause great embarrassment to the Chinese government, who have decided to exterminate all “Chinglish” in time for the 2022 Winter Olympics.

So let’s take a moment to remember our fallen soldiers…

R.I.P fellas. You did a horrible job but we love you anyway.
