Christian Bale is know for his extreme transformations. Most famously he lost around 28kg for his role in The Machinist, and then put it all back on again to play Batman the same year.
He’s been at it again, this time to play former Vice President Dick Cheney. How could 44-year-old Christian Bale possibly grow to resemble 77-year-old Dick Cheney? He told Yahoo it just took a little shaving of the head, bleaching of the eyebrows, and gaining of 40 pounds.
The movie itself is by the same people behind The Big Short, which is a good sign, and features a lot of the same cast members. Steve Carell is Donald Rumsfeld, Amy Adams is Lynne Cheney, and Sam Rockwell is George W. Bush.
It looks like comedic take on Dick Cheney’s role as Vice President under Bush, and how essentially he redefined what the position meant in order to become one of the most powerful people in the world. Take a look.
It looks good. I’m expecting big things from this to be honest because The Big Short was so good, Adam McKay won on Oscar for his screenwriting on that one, and he’s behind this too.
I’m also thinking that I’m going to enjoy Sam Rockwell as as George. W Bush. That’s some great casting right there.
Expect a fun ride with this one, but also don’t be surprised if you leave the theatre thinking that the world is doomed. It will be hitting the big screen around Christmas.
