Idris Elba, Idris Elba, Idris Elba.

The name just rolls right off the tongue doesn’t it?

IE has that enviable trait where men would kill to look like him and women would kill to be with him – something only a lucky few of us have.

The Luther actor was recently awarded the honour of being named 2018’s Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine and few could really argue with the decision.

Those eyes, those rugged good looks, those perfect, sparkling teeth, yeah, he’s the people’s champ, alright, and he recently took to Twitter to acknowledge his crown.

But how do you properly pay homage to the world’s best looking man?

By immortalising him on a creepy doll forever more, of course.

Yep, there’s an £850 doll, that’s an EIGHT HUNDRED AND 50 POUND doll of Idris being sold and people aren’t too impressed.

The plastic replica, created by British doll manufacturer Emperis and dressed in jeans and a suit jacket, is both horrifying and amusing in equal measure.

How utterly terrifying is that?

Many believe the doll more closely resembles Montell Williams or Romany Malco – or even Aladdin villain, Jafar.

Others jokes that the doll is how other men wish Idris looked.

“Wait, that doll was supposed to be Idris Elba? Somebody needs to fix that,” one person tweeted.

Another said: “This doll is meant to be Idris Elba, I am dying,” while someone else tweeted: “I look more like Idris Elba than this doll.”

The doll went on sale on 5th November and Emperis claimed there were only a few left at that time.

‘Idris Elba is a British actor we have always admired. Our doll was inspired by him leading to our artistic interpretation,’ Emperis told Metro.co.uk.

In fact, on Emperis’ Facebook page, it says there are only a few of the 17-inch dolls remaining, which are made of resin that gives it a “flesh-like feel.”

And on the company’s website, it appears the Elba doll has sold out.

Why anyone would buy that, I have no idea. Maybe it’s like a weird voodoo thing.

In other Elba news, the BBC has released a new teaser clip for Luther, which hasn’t aired since 2015.

The official synopsis reads:

The moonless shadows of London give birth to a new nightmare. DCI John Luther must once again confront the depths of human depravity. As a series of monstrous killings becomes ever more audacious, Luther and new recruit D.S. Catherine Halliday are confounded by a tangle of leads and misdirection that seems designed to protect an unspeakable horror.

But even as the case brings him closer than ever to the nature of true evil, a reluctant Luther must also face the ghosts of his own past. Striding back into the line of fire, he must choose who to protect… and who to sacrifice. Whatever his next move, it will have devastating consequences for those around him – and will change John Luther forever.”

New Luther and a creepy Idris, doll?

We are too lucky.
