There’s a lot of disparity in the world that’s staring us all in the face that no-one really notices until one person decided to draw our attention towards it.

Admittedly, the unfairness for women usually tips the scales, and a lot of the time men get off scot-free, but in this particularly incident, it’s the fellas who have been short-changed… depending on how you look at it.

Donte Palmer, 31, from Florida, is the victim in question this time, and rose the issue he suffered with on Instagram, after his wife noticed something off about a picture of him.

Basically, he was changing his son’s nappy in a public toilet, and had to improvise a clean surface since most men’s bathrooms don’t come with baby-changing stations as standard.

He said to Buzzfeed that he and his wife share responsibilities around the house and with the kids, so when he noticed his one-year-old son starting to squirm at a local restaurant, he knew he had to change his nappy.

He often has to enlist the help of one of his other sons as it’s hard work changing little Liam. So as Donte sat on a toilet seat and balanced his son on his legs to change him, his son Isiah snapped a few pictures.

We got back to the table and that’s when [Isaiah] showed me the pictures,” Donte said.

He said that he and his sons usually laugh at the pictures, but his wife didn’t see the funny side. She said:

We as women, we don’t have to come up with creative ways to change a diaper, and you have to get a ninja squad to change Liam.”

Donte then took to instagram with the issue, saying:

What’s the deal with not having changing tables in men’s bathroom as if we don’t exist!! Clearly we do this often because look how comfortable my son is.”

The images since went viral and people everywhere jumped in with their support…

Donte went on to say:

If there’s no changing table available, then I do what I do to get it done.

As a father, we need to be seen as an equal.

We’re more than just protectors and providers; we’re the stroller pushers [who] get up at 4 a.m. to warm bottles.

Well said.
