After all the fears of Brooklyn Nine-Nine being cancelled after it was dropped by Fox, everyone was dangerously relieved when it was picked up by NBC.

It was a clever move from the TV channel as they’ve won over hoards of devoted fans and put their money where their mouth is, ordering 18 episodes of the hit comedy.

From the looks of things, the series picks up exactly where it left off, with Captain Raymond Holt addressing the group to say whether or not he’s become new NYPD commissioner.

We don’t get an answer but since everyone’s pretty sombre and appalled at Jake’s dancing, it’s probably not a good one…

There’s no release date as of yet, which isn’t great, but we’ll just have to wait and see and thank our lucky stars that we’re getting at least one more season.

When NBC picked the show up, Robert Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC Entertainment said:

Ever since we sold this show to Fox I’ve regretted letting it get away, and it’s high time it came back to its rightful home.

We’re all thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and best cast comedies in a long time will take its place in our comedy line-up.

Too right.

We’ll let you know when to expect the new season and we seriously can’t wait.

Now for someone to do the same to Community and all will be well…
