I’m neither a dad nor someone who’s visited a Disney resort in my adult life (I think I was three?) but somehow this absolutely resonates with me.

I have young people close to me in my family and they get excitable in a Sainsbury’s, which is hard enough, but to think about dragging them around – or being dragged around – a Disney World is far too much to bear.

John Crist himself isn’t even a dad, but he seems to get it too.

He gets it so much in fact, that he took to making a video recounting how all parents act when in Disney World Florida.

He’s pretty on point with his observations and you’d be forgiven for thinking that he’s a parent of five but it’s also pretty hilarious. Give it a watch…

I’m pretty certain that I’ve seen parents say exactly this stuff in places near me. Not even exciting places; Robert Dyas, Carluccio’s… the District Line from Embankment to Aldgate East.

I really do sympathise with “It’s 9:30 in the morning, it’s too early to get wet,” but I’ve got to say, without a shadow of a doubt, “No, you cannot have Goofy-shaped chicken nuggets. Sit down, your mother brought ham sandwiches,” absolutely broke my heart.

It breaks my heart for two reasons; how upset I was whenever I wasn’t allowed the cool, unhealthy foods available at certain venues, and how potentially sad it may have made my mum whenever she made me food herself and I turned my nose up at it.
