Hey, it’s those Netflix shows I famously love!

Unfortunately you can’t detect tone through a measly article, but if you could you’d know I was being sarcastic.

I mean, I watched exactly one episode of both You and The Haunting of Hill House and my summery: too creepy, too scary.

However, I know they were a monumental hit because I had to write about them all the time.

And as it goes, Netflix are combining the two shows, as Haunting of Hill House star Victoria Pedretti has been cast as the love interest/potential stalking victim in the upcoming season of You.

Apparently Pedretti will appear as Love Quinn when You returns for its second season. Quinn’s an aspiring chef working as the produce manager of a high-end grocery store, but unlike Joe’s first victim, she has no interest in social media.

Not a clue.

The streaming platform announced the news on Twitter, writing: “Haunting of Hill House breakout Victoria Pedretti landed the female lead in @YouNetflix Season 2.

“She plays Love Quinn, an aspiring chef who doesn’t care about social media. She’s also tending to a deep grief — so when she meets Joe she senses a shared knowledge of profound loss.”

You‘s second season will be based on the book Hidden Bodies, which sees Joe moves from New York to LA in an attempt to start a new life.

To me, Love embodies the best of Los Angeles,” You executive producer Sera Gamble told EW.

“Joe is not moving to LA because he f–king loves the West Coast. He’s a New Yorker and he has bought the party line on how terrible LA is and when he gets here, very little dissuades him from his initial opinion. But I personally have been in LA since I was a teenager and it’s this beautiful patchwork city that I truly adore. This show is an opportunity to illuminate an LA that maybe a lot of people haven’t seen that goes beyond the Hollywood sign and Love is part of that. She’s a Los Angeles native. She has really absorbed the best of the city and she’s really artistic with the way that she lives her life.

And as for Joe, well, Gamble shared a few hints with the Hollywood Reporter about what’s in store for him too.

“Part of the fun of continuing the story is that the loose ends from Joe’s past are still dangling and could come back to him at anytime.

“He is very worried about the fact that Peach Salinger [the cousin of Beck, murdered by Joe in season one]’s family has hired people to investigate her alleged suicide, and there is evidence potentially still at her house from season one.

“If you look at every act of violence that he does in season one, that is potentially something that could come back and bite him. And Dr. Nicky [Beck’s therapist] is in prison and he is ardently protesting his innocence.”

I should really catch up on the first season of You so that when the upcoming season does drop I know what to talk about.

It’s just… effort, you know?

Ahh what the heck, I’ll try for you guys (my girlfriend will be very pleased).

You season 2 returns to Netflix later this year, folks!
