It’s long been established that the only thing worth watching on daytime TV is This Morning when Holly and Phil are hosting. Other than the mercurial Ant and Dec, they’ye perhaps the two living TV presenters with the best onscreen chemistry there is – and that includes Eamonn and Ruth and Richard and Judy… who are married.

It’s only a shame that we only really get to see them together pre-watershed. Sure, Holly’s a team captain on Celebrity Juice which Schofield has been on, but we want to see them completely in their element, working alongside one another.

Well it looks like our prayers have been answered, as they will soon be hosting a post-watershed, after-hours episode of This Morning… This Evening. God such an obvious joke. Can’t believe I made it.

The show will in fact be called This Morning – 30 Unforgettable Years, in which the duo will look back on the most memorable moments from the daytime TV show, as well as unseen footage.

So it’s essentially a clip show, presented by Holly and Phil, where they delve into the celebrity gossip, real life stories and news surrounding This Morning.

Before Holly and Phil, you may remember that Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan used to host the show, followed by good ol’ Phil and Fern Britton, before ITV rebranded the morning programme and got Holly Willoughby in.

Revealing the news on Twitter, the official ITV account wrote:

“Confirmed: This Morning – 30 Unforgettable Years. Tuesday 2 October at 7.30pm on ITV.“

The one-off will be 90 minutes of gold, and Twitter is delighted…

I struggled to understand that one, but I’m sure they’re happy.
