There are a few things I tend to associate with the 90s: Tamagotchis, SMTV Live, innocence, gunking people in green stuff, Findus Crispy Pancakes and Nickelodeon.

Nickelodeon, along with Cartoon Network and Trouble (remember that?) were the go-to shows in my youth, with the former bringing us the likes of Rugrats, Hey Arnold, The Angry Beavers and of course, Kenan & Kel.

If you ask someone ‘who loves orange soda?’ and their reply isn’t ‘Keeeeeel loves orange soda’ then they had a tragic upbringing and you should never speak to them again.

It’s been 18 years since the iconic duo were properly on our screens (not including the stoner classic Good Burger) and many of us have all but given up on a proper reunion.

The pair did, however, recently reunite to face off in a revival of classic game show Double Dare, which looks a lot like BBC’s 50-50 with plenty of aforementioned green gunky stuff.

But here’s the exciting news: while speaking to Bustle during the filming for the Double Dare special, Kel confirmed that he and Kenan talk about a Kenan & Kel revival “all the time”.

“We’re cracking jokes between shots, you see that onscreen, you can see the magic. It’s just like when we were kids. We’re built for this,” Kel said.

“We keep doing these little things for the fans but we’re definitely going to have something big for you guys to check out. We still have it. We’re still on it.”

Talking about an earlier reunion on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, in which they brought back their characters at the Good Burger, Kel also revealed that their comeback inspired them to “do some more stuff”.

And as far as a potential story-line goes for a modern day version of the sitcom, Kel imagined he would be the owner of “some orange soda company”.

“His parents were astronauts and brain surgeons, so I think he would have finally tapped into something pretty big but then end up messing it up in some type of way,” he added.

“And then Kenan was always scheming on the show, so maybe he’s doing something crazy with Kel’s company and they end up losing everything.”

Sounds pretty good to me.

Make it happen!
