He doesn’t know it, but Tom Holland is my nemesis. We’re the same age, same height, from the same part of the world, we look similar (albeit with him being far more attractive) and yet he was the one to be chosen as Spider-Man.

Sure, I don’t act and I don’t even try to put myself forward for auditions, but I always assumed that if I was right for a role, a casting director would stop me and give me their card.

I digress. Netflix have announced a new original film with the Kingston-Upon-Thames actor starring, called The Devil All The Time. Instantly I’m interested, as despite sort of hating him, I also love Tom, so I want to see him excel.

But that’s not it, as the rest of the cast is pretty great, also featuring Chris Evans, Robert Pattinson and Bill Skarsgard. It’s weird that Robert Pattinson is the only name so far to have not been involved with a Marvel film (you may remember Skarsgard’s brief cameo in Deadpool 2).

Mia Wasikowska, and Eliza Scanlen also star in the film which is set to be about a Midwestern couple who kill for fun, a less-than-perfect preacher and a corrupt law official. The Devil All The Time spans two decades.

The cast is fantastic. You already know that Chris Evans is a delight to see on your screens, while Holland has shown his acting chops in a whole array of great films and performances. You may not like Robbert Pattinson after Twilight, but it would be remiss not to class him as a superb actor. His performance in the pretty forgettable The Lost City of Z was great; a film that Holland also starred in.

You’ll know Mia Wasikowska from Tim Burton’s adaptation of Alice In Wonderland, and Eliza Scanlen received critical acclaim after starring in Sharp Objects. They’re not half-arsing anything here.

If you like The Sinner, then you’ll probably like this since they have the same director, in Antonio Campos.

The Devil All The Time is slated for a 2020 release.

Sounds good. I’m looking forward to it.
