It’s finally here, people.
Netflix has released the eagerly-anticipated first trailer for “Making A Murderer” Part 2 which will follow Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey’s fight for justice after their 2007 conviction for the murder of Teresa Halbach.
The hugely popular docu-series first premiered on Netflix in 2015 and gripped millions around the world, bringing considerable attention to Manitowoc County, Wisconsin where the case took place.
Making A Murderer Part 2 will focus on the reopening of Steven’s case and the post-conviction process.
Avery is currently serving a life-sentence for the murder, while his nephew, Brendan Dassey, was sentenced to life after confessing to assisting the murder. His conviction was later overturned but subsequent hearings ruled against him.
Over the course of the 10 episodes, audiences will watch as Dassey and Avery’s legal teams aim to exonerate them.

Kathleen Zellner, a post-conviction lawyer specialising in wrongful convictions, is a new addition to the show and will be helping with Avery’s case. It’s said in a statement about season two that she has “unexpected evidence about what may have happened to Teresa Halbech and how and why the jury convicted Steven of her murder.”
Filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos return for the second season which will also examine how the case received such huge international attention.
“In Part 2, we have chronicled the experience of the convicted and imprisoned, two men each serving life sentences for crimes they maintain they did not commit,” they said in a statement last month. “We are thrilled to be able to share this new phase of the journey with viewers.”
“Making a Murderer Part 2” will be released on Netflix October 19.
We can’t wait.
