I’m constantly bitter about never growing up with a dog. Sure, my dad was (and still is) allergic to them and on balance, I probably wouldn’t swap him for a dog, but I’m still allowed to be annoyed.

No-one has a bad dog story, really. They’re like the opposite of bouncers.

Of course Netflix know this, and they’re trying their utmost to capitalise on the global appreciation of mutts by releasing a documentary series on dogs and their relationships with humans.

Rather ingeniously, the series is called Dogs and features six stories “celebrating the deep emotional bonds between people and their beloved four-legged friends“.

Each story takes places in a different country, including the USA, Syria, Italy, Japan and Costa Rica with every episode focusing on one specific dog.

Have a look at the trailer…

It looks despicably heartwarming.

The dog trapped in Syria looks pretty sad; I hope that one’s resolved nicely and promptly.

Dogs are just life’s good guys, aren’t they? Sure, you get some that are pretty bad but that’s generally more down to their owners.

Dogs will be available to watch on Netflix come the 16th of November. I’ll be there – will you?
