It took a while but I finally got around to watching that Bros documentary on the BBC yesterday and it really didn’t disappoint. Real life David Brent stuff, there, and I actually thought for a second after watching it that I’d be able to join in the conversation but no. There’s a new documentary on the block..umentary.

You’ll remember the colossal fuss that was the Fyre Festival back in 2017, where a chancer borrowing $7 million, along with musician Ja Rule, conned a bunch of rich kids into thinking they were going to the best music festival of all time.

However when they showed up, it transpired that nothing had been thought out; there was hardly any food, little clean water, the luxury villas promised were no more than damp mattresses on the floor. Looting soon commenced.

Everything was a far cry form the glamorous festival for the elite, promised by the likes of Emily Ratajkowski, Kendall Jenner, and Bella Hadid. It was on an island previously owned by Pablo Escobar, supposed to be filled with models, villas and jet skis, as well as bands like Blink 182.

Netflix covered the events and how they transpired on their exclusive documentary FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened.

Organisers Billy McFarland and Ja Rule were sued for $100 million eventually and the former went to prison.

The documentary has got people talking on Twitter…

A similar documentary was released on Hulu, covering the same topic. Meanwhile, Ja Rule has spoken against both on Twitter…

Oh dear.
