Former US President Obama was always careful with his words in public when talking about Donald Trump.

However, a bombshell new book alleges that he was much more candid behind the scenes.

The Guardian has shared excerpts from the new publication. It’s called  “Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats’ Campaigns to Defeat Donald Trump”.

It’s written by Edward-Isaac Dovere, a staff writer at The Atlantic.

According to The Guardian quotes, the book says  Obama has frank and explicit conversations with donors and political advisors.

It’s claimed that Obama called Trump a “corrupt motherf****r,” a “madman,” a “racist, sexist pig,” and “that f***ing lunatic.”

There is also a shocking passage that alleges the now first lady, Jill Biden, says now Vice-President Kamala Harris should “go f**k herself”. It’s claimed the comments were made after a debate-stage attack on Joe Biden early in the primary.

It was well documented how Trump was not a fan of Obama, and he championed the racist birth conspiracy. He argued that Obama did not qualify for President.

Nobody thought the two were best friends, but until now Obama’s comments haven’t been explicitly expressed anywhere.

Trump VS Cruz

Dovere also reports that Obama at first preferred the idea of Trump as president instead of Ted Cruz.

Not for any polite reason, but because he thought Trump was nowhere near as clever as Cruz.

However, it soon became clear that Trump was in the running.

“He’s a madman.”

Dovere reports Obama telling “big donors looking to squeeze a reaction out of him in exchange for the big checks they were writing to his foundation”.

“More often: ‘I didn’t think it would be this bad.’ Sometimes: ‘I didn’t think we’d have a racist, sexist pig.’ Depending on the outrage of the day … a passing ‘that fucking lunatic’ with a shake of his head.”

Dovere alleges that one of the most shocking remarks came about after reports that Trump was speaking to foreign leaders including Vladimir Putin, without any aides on the call.

“‘That corrupt motherfucker,’ he remarked.”

Dovere also writes about the rocky relationship between Obama and Biden.

He reports Obama’s doubts that Biden was too old for the role.

Dovere also reports that he and Obama when in power were not sufficiently focused on the working- and middle-class voters who gave Trump his victory.

Biden talks about the sizeable challenge he faced, running for president close to his 78th birthday and in the middle of a global pandemic.

“I remember someone saying, ‘Joe, now you caught the car.’ I said, ‘No, I think I got the bus.’ I’m the dog that caught the bus.”
