It seemed like only yesterday – it was – that I was reporting that DIY SOS’s Nick Knowles had usurped Harry Redknapp to become the favourite to be crowned King of the Jungle.

Giving up his place in the 10-man dinner – since one star hadn’t been collected – won the public’s hearts, with Betway’s Alan Alger telling Express.co.uk:

Harry Redknapp looked to have taken a firm grip on the I’m A Celeb betting over the weekend, but Nick Knowles has been the best backed in the last 24 hours and looks a genuine challenger.

Knowles has gone from being a quietly-fancied 5/1 shot to the gamble of the week at 5/2 and any further support could see him take Harry’s place as favourite for the jungle crown.

Redknapp remains 10/11 to go all the way but was as short as 4/7 after Sunday night’s show, while Emily Atack heads up the chances of the female campmates at 11/2.

But now it looks like his reign wasn’t set to last, since people are now complaining that he was, perhaps accidentally, homophobic, during last night’s episode.

This came after Knowles became embarrassed when tasked with handling recently washed women’s underwear. Worried that, I don’t know, he might die, he called over John Barrowman to help out.

John picked up on this, being the only gay man in the camp, and wondered why Nick chose him to help, with Nick saying he was too old fashioned to do it himself.

Some people thought the issue was problematic, while other praised Knowles for having “gentlemanly values”…

It’s a tough one, that’s for sure.
