A brat for not speaking to the press? Takes one to know one, right Piers?

The wildly outspoken Piers Morgan is at it again in his Mail Online column, calling tennis player Naomi Osaka a ‘brat’ for not speaking to the press.

Osaka was recently fined for refusing to speak to journalists at the ongoing French Open Roland-Garros tournament.

The tennis star later quit the tournament following the decision to fine her.

Osaka said that she will no longer speak to the press as a way of protecting her mental health.

On her Instagram, she said: “I’ve watched many clips of athletes breaking down after a loss in the press room and I know you have as well. I believe that whole situation is kicking a person while they’re down and I don’t understand the reasoning behind it.”

What’s wrong with that? Nothing, right?

Well, Piers Morgan certainly thinks there is.

In his column, Piers says such things as “Ms. Osaka is also an arrogant spoiled brat whose fame and fortune appears to have inflated her ego to gigantic proportions.”

And “what’s not meaningless is her frankly contemptible attempt to avoid legitimate media scrutiny by weaponizing mental health to justify her boycott.”

He even stated outright that her decision not to talk to the press was not because of her mental health: “One thing’s very clear: this has got nothing to do with mental health.”

Osaka isn’t the only one to be called a liar by the former Good Morning Britain host for talking about their mental health.

Before his swift GMB exit, Piers stated that ‘he didn’t believe a word Meghan Markle said when she opened up about her mental health struggles during her and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Several years ago, he also lashed out at Lady Gaga saying that she was making up having post-traumatic stress disorder.

How damaging is Piers Morgan to the vital discourse surrounding mental health?
