Only three things in life are certain: death, taxes and police officers loving doughnuts, lol got’em!

Now, as 2018 drew to a close, people wondered what parting gift we’d receive from a year that was largely hit and miss. Would there be a new film announcement? Something like a Jaws remake with Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of the shark?

No, there was a fire in a doughnut van!

On New Year’s Eve itself, a fire broke out in a Krispy Creme van in a Kentucky city, presumably burning the pastries within until they were no longer edible (or rather that they still were, just f*cking awful).

Naturally, emergency services were called to the scene and not missing out on the opportunity to get some much-needed good PR, the Lexington Police Department snapped a few shots of the smouldering wreck, accompanied by distraught officers.

They tweeted the photos with the caption “No words.” and it’s fair to say that it went down a storm.

You have to assume that no-one died, or was even injured in the fire since that would be in hugely bad taste and your suspicions would be proven correct, as a Lexington television station reported no one was hurt and the truck was empty at the time of the fire.

That would be bad.

Other police departments decided to weigh in and offer their condolences…
