Prince Harry has been making headlines lately by talking openly on podcasts and the interview with Oprah.

It turns out that Prince William made Harry pledge years ago never to talk in detail about their late mother in public again.

That’s according to a royal insider, who said that William didn’t want either of them talking about Princess Diana.

Judging by Prince Harry’s latest conversations on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, and the bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview, Harry appears to have broken that vow.

He talked in detail about family rifts, and on the new podcast talked about how his mother’s death impacted him.

They both talked to an ITV documentary on the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s car crash death in 2017.

At the time they said it was the last time they would speak about her death.

Prince William said: “We won’t be doing this again – we won’t speak as openly or publicly about her again, because we feel hopefully this film will provide the other side from close family friends you might not have heard before, from those who knew her best and from those who want to protect her memory, and want to remind people of the person that she was.”

However, on the podcast, Harry said: “Look what it did to my mum. How am I ever going to settle down and have a wife and family, when I know it’s going to happen again?”

Talking about Diana: “The massive immense impact that she had on us in the short time she was around was huge. Because all she wanted to do was make sure we had as normal a life as possible.”

Then, the new trailer was released for Harry’s new mental health series with Oprah. The ad hints that he may talk about his mother again.

The series is called  The Me You Can’t See. The two-minute long clip features footage of the young brothers at Diana’s funeral.

12-year-old Harry is shown watching his mother’s coffin.

The Mail Online reports palace insiders are worried Harry will raise issues about the funeral procession back in 1997.

There has been criticism about the decision to have the young boys following their mother’s coffin for a mile.

Millions of people watched on TV, as one million people lined the streets of London.

A royal insider told the Mail: “Of course this is Prince Harry’s story to tell and he has every right to share it.

“But what you have to understand is that it goes very much against the strategy he agreed with William following the 20th anniversary of Diana’s death.

“That’s going to increase tensions between William and Harry, which sadly are already high.”

The next time the brothers are expected to reunite will be in July.

They are set to meet for the unveiling of a statue in Kensington Palace’s garden.

It’s a tribute to Diana, to mark what would have been her 60th birthday.

Do you think Harry needs to stop talking about it?
