Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey’s new docuseries, The Me You Can’t See, stunned viewers with how open the prince was.

He talked candidly about his mental health experiences and went into further detail about Meghan Markle’s suicidal thoughts.

Now the director of one of the episodes says Harry volunteered to undergo psychotherapy on camera to demonstrate how “mental wellness is an ongoing pursuit”.

It’s claimed that the Queen has been upset by comments Harry made on the series.

Harry says the Prince of Wales had caused him to “suffer” as a child.

He volunteered to be filmed undergoing a form of therapy known as eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing, or EMDR.

It’s designed to blunt the trauma of painful memories.

Dawn Porter was the director of the episode. She told Town and Country magazine: “Harry volunteered, he was game for trying something.

“And we thought well, we have the opportunity to film this [therapy] and maybe this is something that will work for some people, maybe it won’t, but the idea is that you don’t tick a box and you’re done, mental wellness is an ongoing pursuit.”

She added: “You have to continue to try new things and to push yourself. His volunteering to try something was a great way to emphasize and underscore that point.”

Porter also said one of the upsides of working with Oprah was that she got access to “a lot of the best research and the best medicine.”

She say both Harry and Oprah have “very personal and deep feelings” about destigmatising mental health.

Prince Harry talked about the therapy he has been having for the last four years.

Ms Porter said: “It was really exciting to work on something that is so important to so many people, but so misunderstood.”

Kate Middleton’s Uncle

In yet more family drama, Kate Middleton’s uncle has lashed out at Harry and Meghan, calling them “muppets”.

Gary Goldsmith is the brother of Kate’s mother Carole.

He told Australia’s 60 Minutes everyone was “massively disappointed” when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle there everyone “under a bus”.

Goldsmith is also unhappy with the couple for claiming that Kate reduced Meghan to tears in a row over bridesmaids’ dresses.

Mr Goldsmith posted a message on LinkedIn branding Harry and Meghan “muppets craving attention” following the Oprah broadcast.

In the post he also told them “shut the F up” and let Britons get on with “saving lives” and the “economy” during the pandemic.

When asked about his post, he said “I’m embarrassed about doing it but I stand by it”.

“I’m just very disappointed with them and there’s a whole nation that’s massively disappointed with them,” he said in the interview.

“We all love Harry, the whole world loves Harry, but you just don’t do what they did.”

“You just don’t do what they did and then go on Oprah and talk like that. It’s just not the way the world works.”

“There were a lot of things in that interview I didn’t believe.”

“Kate would always be the peacemaker in those situations. I think we saw at the funeral (for Prince Philip) that Kate is always trying to make peace.”

He said Kate is “even lovelier on the inside than on the outside”.
