With The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina being released on Netflix very soon, the Riverdale universe is growing. It’s uncertain as to whether there will ever be a crossover with the two shows, but that’s something we can all look forward to.

Speaking of witch (get it?), the new trailer for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is here. Have a look…

Looks fun, albeit slightly creepy.

Now then, back to Riverdale, the show based on Archie Comics that started it all.

On Sunday, show creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, teased the arrival of season 3 at the New York Comic Con, and it had a lot of people excited.

A lot of things were discussed, but the new additions to the cast is what really made headlines. Up until now, we’ve come accustomed to Jughead and his dad, played by Cole Sprouse and Skeet Ulrich, but now we’re completing the family, with a mother and a sister from Sprouse’s character.

Gina Gershon will be playing Gladys Jones, mummy Jughead, and her daughter, Jellybean “JB” Jones, will be played by Trinity Likins.

CW explained in a press release that Gladys is:

a ‘businesswoman’ who runs the salvage yard (chop shop) that doubles as a Serpent compound, and the Serpents all snap to attention when she gives them an order. A Serpent with a GED, she acts as Fagin to a crew of teenaged car parts thieves.”

Meanwhile, Jellybean:

“is wise beyond her years, and her favorite bands are Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath. Jellybean lives with her biker mom in Toledo where they run scams to make ends meet. And like mother like daughter: Jellybean — who goes by JB now — is quite the little con artist herself.

Groovy stuff.

As for FP Jones, Aguirre-Sacasa explained that he “is a little bit adrift now that he’s not the king of the Serpents. I think Gladys is gonna shake that up a little bit.

While Riverdale comes back on the 10th of October on CW, you’ll have to wait until 12th December to see Gladys and JB’s debuts.
