It seems a long way away (I don’t mean Australia – because that is objectively a long way away) but the next series of I’m A Celebrity is already being spoken about in hushed tones.

There was already gossip and drama surrounding the reality show earlier this year when it transpired that, due to personal issues, Ant McPartlin wouldn’t be able to reprise his presenting role with long-time career partner Declan Donnelly, instead being replaced with everyone’s favourite daytime TV presenter, Holly Willoughby.

But entertaining though Dec and Holly may be, that’s not what we switch on for. No, we’re interested in who has to deal with the spiders and kangaroo bollocks.

Surprise surprise, things are already being leaked. And there’s a comprehensive list of celebs who are rumoured to be in the upcoming I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here

Nick Knowles

Apparently this one’s a done deal, and was an expensive signing for ITV. Nick previously said about appearing on the show:

I think it would be quite fun to do because of all the trials, I quite fancy having a go at that. I’d rock the hat.

I get asked every year and I’ve always said I wouldn’t do it but who knows? I got a little boy who needs looking after and if it comes to it I’ll never say never.

An ITV source since confirmed to The Sun, saying:

Jungle bosses are delighted. They think Nick will be a great campmate and will be full of stories about his famous pals, including the princes.

He’s a really well-connected bloke. It’ll earn him a tidy sum for his time in Australia.”

Stephanie Waring

The Hollyoaks actor has expressed her interest in appearing in the jungle, saying:

I’ve always wanted to do the jungle. I’m scared of everything but I’d like to be in Australia.

There are no pressures from the outside world, no TVs and no phones and I think it’s a real test of inner strength which has always appealed to me.

Alexandra Cane

She may not have gone the whole way in Love Island but there’s hope for her yet. On maybe appearing on the hit ITV show, she said to Metro:

I know I’m A Celeb don’t like Love Island people but I’m determined! I will go on that show because I love everything they get involved in.

I love a bit of danger. I love snakes and I don’t mind spiders so I think I’d be really good on the show. I’d win everyone meals in the camp. Lara Croft vibes!

Frankie Bridge

The Saturdays star is no stranger to reality TV and least year her husband and ex-pro footballer made his jungle debut. She told the Mirror:

I think now Wayne’s done it and he loved it and he said he would do it again, it kind of makes me feel positive that I would enjoy it

Nadiya Hussain

The Bake Off winner is a fan favourite, and when asked about the prospect on Lorraine, she said:

There is something about being in the jungle that really excites me.

I grew up eating offal, so that would not bother me. Blitz it up and put it in a glass and I’ll have it.”

Conor McGregor

The odds on the Irishman joining the cast of I’m a Celeb have been slashed since his UFC suspension, with Ladbrokes spokesperson, Jessica Bridge, saying:

McGregor’s faced a fair few snakes in UFC, so the celebrity jungle should be a breeze for the Irishman.

Not sure he needs the money, really…

Sam Smith

All it took the singer to spark a frenzy of debate about whether or not he was appearing in the jungle was a tweet reading:

I wanna go camping so badly at the moment. No idea why.”

Crazy stuff.

Danny Dyer

Now that his daughter is a bona fide reality TV winner, Danny wants another crack at the whip, saying:

It is an instant thing at the moment and it is a career… why not try and do something like this Love Island – everyone’s talking about it and she [Dani] can earn loads of money and crack right on.

It is a career – you can earn loads of dough and get loved and adored for it.

Also on the list is Kate Garraway, Monica Lewinsky, Lucy Fallon, Stephen Bear, Fleur East, Coleen Nolan, Catherine Tyldesley, Olivia Attwood, Brendan Cole, Kieran Hayler, Nigel Farage, Aaron Chalmers, Rosie Marcel, Jamie Laing, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Emily Atack, Malique Thompson-Dwyer and Christine McGuinness.

Probably too many names there to all be true.

Right bunch of ragtags.
