I watch so much Netflix nowadays that I have pretty much forgotten everything that happened in the second season of Stranger Things.

Well, almost everything, I remember Steve and Dustin had that bromance on the go, but I’m pretty sure there’s much bigger things that I’m forgetting. Still, the upside to all of this is that I get to watch it all again before season three drops, which we now know will be on July 4th this year.

Netflix published a teaser clip revealing the release date for the season, and thus waving the hype train out of the station.

The clip takes us back to Dick Clark’s New Years show in 1984. We watch as the clock counts down but things quickly get pretty weird, with the screen slowly turning upside down. Fans are already trying to figure out what “When blue and yellow meet in the west” means.

The release date announcement was backed up with this poster, it shows the gang enjoying fireworks, although Eleven and Will seem to be distracted by something behind them.

A previous teaser released last summer was an ad for a new shopping mall in Hawkins, in which we got a glimpse of Steve.

By the time the third season is released it will have been nearly two years since the last one. I’m sure it will be worth the wait.
