Since Disney announced that, along with Lion King, they were remaking a load of their classic films as high-budget live-action blockbusters, a lot of people were pretty sceptical.

At first it just seemed like a cash-grab. Would these new films really be offering us something that their cartoon counterparts couldn’t?

Short answer: yes.

Already the Jungle Book remake went down a storm, the trailer for Dumbo looks incredible, and the newest addition – the Lion King trailer – is phenomenal.

It’s been a long time coming now, and we’re finally get the sneak peak. Have a watch…

James Earl Jones’ narration is unparalleled in the world of cinema. What a golden voice.

We get short snippets of a few famous scenes, such as Simba’s presentation as a cub, to the stampede that tragically cut Mufasa’s life short (which still makes us cry when we think about it).

Other than that, we don’t get to see many of the characters. I’m desperate to see what Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner’s Timon and Pumbaa look like, as well as Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Scar.

The cast is so good in this film – it’s going to be amazing.

Annoyingly we have to wait 238 days until 19th July, when it’s released in cinemas.

Nightmare.
