These days everyone’s so intent on making celebrations look as scenic as possible, that they all end up visiting the same five Pinterest posts. Because of that, every birthday, anniversary, wedding, engagement and baby shower look exactly the same.

So when you’re two(soon the be three)-year-old requests a “poop-themed” party for her birthday, the temptation to oblige is all too overwhelming.

Well you’d think so, anyway.

The mum in question, Rebecca, tried her utmost to deter little Audrey from celebrating growing a year older, surrounded by sh*t, but to no avail, and eventually gave in in spectacular fashion.

It’s fair to say that she didn’t half-arse the event, and wonderfully embraced the theme when planning her daughter’s party.

To be fair, the event wasn’t as crass as you may be thinking, as the poop was more or less just the emoji, but in several formats.

For one, Rebecca wore a full-size poo emoji costume, the cake was emblazoned with poo emojis, there was “pin the poop” in the toilet, poo emoji balloons and much, much more.

Rebecca said that she and her husband decided to “embrace the weird,” and went on to say how, in the end, she loved the idea:

I feel like in this time of Facebook and Pinterest, we sometimes get caught up in trying to impress other adults. This party wasn’t for me, it was for Audrey.

I love that we will look back at pictures, and it will represent her at 3 ― my funny and quirky little girl.”

They pulled it off wonderfully, you have to admit. I’m annoyed I wasn’t invited, to be honest.

Happy third birthday, Audrey. We all have big hopes for your fourth.
