Channel 4’s First Dates was an absolute hit when it first burst onto the scene.

We’ve all been on dates at some point in our lives and I think it’s fair to say that it’s a thoroughly nerve-racking experience. From walking into glass doors to spilling red wine all over myself, I’ve had some pretty embarrassing moments on first dates, which is why I’ll never understand why some people want theirs to be recorded and viewed by millions of people.

You’re much braver than I am.

Anyway, not wanting to let this dating hype pass them by, streaming giants Netflix have hopped on the bandwagon for their own relationship series and it’s their first ever original dating show.

Dating Around sees one singleton going on five blind dates in the hope of making a true connection. It’s essentially First Dates meets Dinner Date and I’m totally OK with that.

A synopsis reads:

In a series of flirtations and fails, six real-life singles navigate five first dates. Their mission: Find one perfect match worthy of a second date. Dating Around launches on Netflix on February 14.

Ahh, how heartwarming.

It kind of looks like a film though, don’t you think? The way it’s shot makes it look like Love Actually or something.

Anyway, at the end of each date, the couples must decide if they want to see each other again or not.

Whether they do or not, we’ll have to wait and see.

Dating Around premieres on Netflix on Feb 14th, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Perfect.
