‘You’ has been in the news a lot recently.
That isn’t me attacking you with some kind of colloquial language, I mean the Netflix show. (Don’t worry, you haven’t done anything wrong – at least I don’t think).
Netflix’s psychological thriller has compelled audiences with its depiction of stalker behaviour as it follows Penn Badgley’s Joe character as he develops a dangerous obsession with a young author.
Netflix recently confirmed that a second season of the hugely popular show was in the works, and it will be based on the second part of Caroline Kepnes’ two-novel series called Hidden Bodies, but now it seems we’re also going to be getting a third.
Co-creator and executive producer Sera Gamble told Cosmopolitan:
“Absolutely it could come back for season three.
“First of all, it’s up to the powers that be. We hope that a lot of people will watch the show and that it gets to continue.
“I will say that we have an idea for season three that is SO exciting that people talk about it in the [writer’s] room everyday. So my fingers are crossed… I’ll just say, I hope we get the chance to keep making the show.”
Speaking about how Joe’s past could come back to haunt him, Gamble told the Hollywood Reporter:
“Part of the fun of continuing the story is that the loose ends from Joe’s past are still dangling and could come back to him at anytime.
“He is very worried about the fact that Peach Salinger’s family has hired people to investigate her alleged suicide, and there is evidence potentially still at her house from season one.
“If you look at every act of violence that he does in season one, that is potentially something that could come back and bite him. And Dr. Nicky is in prison and he is ardently protesting his innocence.”
This comes after Penn Badgley had the best response to reaching one million followers on Instagram.
Sharing a video to his one million fans of him pretending to hold back tears, Penn said : “Good morning from Manila. I wake up to find – I never thought I’d see the day – but I wake up to find I have a million followers.
“I don’t know what to say, because all it took was for me to start murdering people. Y’all get the f*ck out of here!”
The caption read: “Woke up like this #nofilter thx 4 followinggggggg :)”
People have recently been expressing their desires for Penn’s character in the show, and he had to kindly remind them he was a complete psychopath.
