Jeremy Renner’s Chest Collapsed and Torso Crushed By Snow Plough According to 911 Call

Jeremy Renner was recently involved in a horrific accident involving a snow plough while trying to clear the road outside his home.

The latest news, however, reveals further details of the incident. In particular, its immediate aftermath, as the notes from the 911 emergency call log has been released.

It comes as the U.S. is currently suffering from severe winter storms. These are affecting millions of people, and have resulted in several deaths over the last few weeks.

Snow and ice have been prevalent in many states over the New Year’s weekend, and it is only expected to get worse over the next few days, with sixteen states under weather alerts.

Renner reportedly was severely injured as a result of the baltic conditions.

He is known best for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he has also taken on some other impressive roles over the years.

Some of his most famous on-screen appearances are for The Hurt Locker (2008) and The Town (2010), in which he was nominated for an Academy Award. And we simply can’t forget about Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011), American Hustle (2013) and Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation (2015).

According to his publicist, Samantha Mast, Renner was attempting to clear the road outside his home in Nevada following a snowstorm, when he suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries involving the snow plough he was using.

According to a news release, emergency services responded to a “traumatic injury” call at 9 am on January 1.

The statement read: “Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital.”

Following the incident, TMZ reported that neighbors rushed to the scene to help the fifty-one-year-old, whose leg was allegedly run over by the Snowcat he was using.

Thankfully, one of his neighbours is a doctor and managed to fashion a tourniquet around Renner’s leg to prevent him from losing any more blood. This was while they waited for emergency services to arrive.

TMZ also obtained the 911 call log, which revealed further details of what exactly happened at Renner’s home.

They report that the actor could be heard moaning in pain in the background of the call, and that he had “extreme difficulty” breathing.

It also states that the right-hand side of his chest had collapsed, and that his upper torso had been “completely crushed” by the machinery.

Renner was then airlifted to the hospital where he underwent surgery for his extensive injuries.

His rep shared that while he is still in intensive care, he is currently in “stable condition.”

They added that: “Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families.

“They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”

Since the news broke of his devastating injuries, thousands of concerned fans and co-stars have taken to social media to share their thoughts and prayers with the star and his family.

Filmmaker, James Gunn, who has worked alongside Renner in multiple marvel projects over the years, wrote on Twitter: “My heart is with @JeremyRenner.”

While a fan tweeted: “My thoughts and prayers they’re with you, Jeremy. I can’t tell you how scared I was after the news of your accident. I’m praying for you, I’m praying for a full recovery. I’m with you in spirit.”

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office has shared the details of what led up to the incident.

They revealed in a press conference that Renner had just finished using his snow plough to clear the path for a family member’s vehicle when he got out to talk to them.

However, during their conversation, the plough began to roll. In an effort to climb back in to turn the machine off, he was run over.

Sheriff Darin Balaam said: “An eyewitness detailed seeing Mr. Renner getting into the PistonBully, and not seeing him again until the PistonBully came to a rest in a pile of snow in front of his driveway.”

Balaam also revealed that the “extremely large piece of snow-removal equipment” that ran over the actor weighed “at least 14,330 pounds”.

He added that they “don’t suspect any foul play,” and wished the star a “full and speedy recovery.”
