Jessica Simpson Responds To Concern From Fans After Sharing ‘Disturbing’ Video

After receiving an influx of concerned messages on one of her Instagram posts, Jessica Simpson has responded to comments from fans worried about her health.

Now, we all know who Jessica Simpson is, born in Texas in 1980, the singer has had a prolific career. She signed with Colombia records aged just seventeen, and this shot her to stardom.

Her debut album, Sweet Kisses, sold over 2 million copies, but it was her second album that saw her career really take off. Irresistible, released in 2001, was a top twenty hit. And Simpson’s follow-up album, In This Skin, sold over 3 million copies in the US alone.

Around this time, Simpson also began making headlines for her personal life, in particularly for her relationship with Nick Lachey, which became the subject of one of the first ever reality TV shows. Newlyweds aired between 2003 and 2005, and introduced Simpson to the wider world.

However, she wasn’t always universally loved. Many found her to be a quintessential dumb blonde (although Simpson later claimed she was playing this role up for the cameras).

Simpson followed this new-found notoriety with another hit album. ReJoyce: The Christmas Album was certified gold in 2004.

After this, Simpson then decided she wanted to try her hand at acting. She played Daisy Duke in the 2005 reboot of The Dukes of Hazzard. Simpson also famously covered These Boots Are Made For Walkin for the movie’s soundtrack. This was her first foray into the country music genre, where she has predominantly dwelled ever since.

Simpson is also a successful businesswoman, and her line of clothing alone has turned over $1 billion in revenue.

But that’s not all, you may also remember her 2020 memoir, Open Book. The scandalous book was a huge hit, and reached the number one spot in the New York Times bestseller list.

When it comes to her personal life, she’s currently married to NFL star Eric Johnson, with whom she shares 3 children, daughters, Maxwell and Birdie, and son, Ace.

And recently, Simpson has hit headlines for a video she posted of her talking about her daughter’s room.

Jessica Simpson’s supporters voiced their concern for the singer’s health after seeing how emaciated she seemed in her most recent Instagram video, with many commenting on her “slurred speech.”

In the post, the star talked about Pottery Barn Kids, and her design ideas for her daughter’s bedroom. But, her post was quickly inundated with hundreds of comments, some of which asked whether the singer was ok.

“I hope she’s ok, I know she’s lost a bit of weight for health reasons but I hope she isn’t overdoing it, she’s such a gentle soul I want her to be happy” one fan wrote.

“What’s going on with Jessica Simpson ?? … that doesn’t even sound like her anymore” commented another follower.

“I hope she’s ok. Beautiful lady but was it me or did she seem like she was talking a little different?” another fan asked.

However, others backed her up, with one writing: “Jessica looks and sounds just fine. What is wrong with some people?!? Some of these comments are nasty and hurtful”

“I think she looks amazing! She looks healthy and beautiful. I don’t get it. Where is the concern? She is a 42yr old Mother who looks 20, a wife and billionaire business entrepreneur. Jealous much? She’s advertising for Pottery Barn For Kids. WTH? Haters!!!” said another fan.

This isn’t the first time fans have commented on her appearance, and Simpson has now spoken out against the attention her weight loss has garnered.

In response to the comments, she wrote: “As much as I have learned to block out destructive noise…peoples’ comments and judgements can still hurt deeply with their incessant nagging “you will never be good enough”. The most important thing I have learned through the last 5yrs without alcohol being a guard for escapism, is that I CAN and ALWAYS WILL get through it.

“I am capable of pretty much anything I care enough about to put my mind to. I am present. I am deeply inspired. I am determined. I am honest. I care about other people. After grounding myself just now with my voice and the lyrics across my heart, I feel compassion for the opinionated hate that some people can so effortlessly just blurt out with such intensity on social media or in the media in general.

“We all have our days of wanting to be, look, do, and feel better. Nobody is alone with that feelin’ that I can promise you. I woke up at the same time anxious and insecure but also also angry and defensive — like some of you. I know what works for me and that is to let go and simply sing while lookin directly inside the mirror, straight in my eyes to really see and understand myself. I can connect with my heartbeat. I am stable and strong. I am home.

“A little advice…live inside your dreams and move through them. Don’t give up on yourself because someone else did. Stay true to YOU. It has worked for me in this chaotic life thus far. Nothin’ and nobody will rob me of my joy. Ya might come close but it is mine to own. Yours should be too.”
