Footage Of Actors Voicing Clickers From The Last Of Us Has Fans In Awe

Footage of The Last Of Us voice actors creating the terrifying clicker sounds has surfaced online, and its left viewers in awe.

As fans will be aware, the show has sadly come to an end, and the finale left some viewers feeling less than impressed with how the season wrapped up…

Dozens have commented on the lack of infected, and how they felt the episode was a slow burn rather than the grand conclusion they were expecting.

Now, ever since The Last Of Us first hit our screens, fans have been praising the show for everything from its writing to the world-class performances from its cast.

At the start of the year, audiences were first introduced to the HBO Max series, which is the first live-action adaptation since the video game wowed audiences way back in 2013.

Just like the games, the series is set in a post-apocalyptic world ruled by an unstoppable, brain-eating, fungal outbreak that transforms humans into cannibals.

Per Deadline, the show’s first 2 episodes were viewed by over twenty million people, making it HBO’s fourth current show to average over fifteen million viewers, and by the last episode the viewer count was over 8 million.

It’s no wonder that they’ve already renewed it for a second season!

The writers have been commended for honouring the original source material, which rapidly gathered a devoted fan base when it first came out. The engaging storylines, impressive visuals, and music propelled it to its massive success.

The Last of Us premiered on January 15, and has been met with rave reviews from both critics and fans, resulting in an unbelievable score of 99 percent on Rotten Tomatoes when it first hit screens.

But now, all eyes are on the last episode, which was the finale of the season.

This Sunday we got to see how the first season would wrap up, and it seems not everyone was impressed.

Episode 9 delved deep into Ellie’s past, where we got to see her birth and the reason behind her immunity, with Ashley Johnson (the voice of Ellie in the game) taking on the role of her mum.

Fans will be aware that our heroes head back to the security of Jackson after the conclusion of the terrifying season finale.

And while there was a lot unveiled during the episode, viewers have a lot of criticisms about the lack of infected, and action.

But it has since been announced that season 2 will feature a lot more of both…

Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann opened up about what we can expect in a recent virtual press conference, sharing that “ultimately, we generally stressed the power of relationships and trying to find significance within moments of action,” Mazin said.

“And so there may be less action than some people wanted because we couldn’t necessarily find significance for quite a bit of it, or [there was] concern that it would be repetitive.

He added: “After all, you’re not playing it, you’re watching it. And although a lot of people do like to watch gameplay, it needs to be a little more focused and purposeful when we’re putting it on TV.”

When it comes to the comments about a lack of action, Mazin said: “A lot of the gameplay is centered on NPC’s that you have to get around, avoid, stealth kill or just confront head-on.

“The NPCs were either raiders, cannibalism… or the infected. So there’s a lot of fighting. I don’t know what your ultimate kill count is on a typical run of The Last of Us but it’s in the triple digits for sure.”

Clickers are a central part of the show, and it seems the lack of the fungus creatures turned out to be an issue for some.

But fear not, behind the scenes footage of voice actors creating the clicker sounds we hear in the show has been posted online, and it’s the best thing ever.

Many were awestruck by the ability on display as actors created clicker noises in the recording booth.

Dozens took to the comment section of the post to share their thoughts on the impressive voice effects, with one writing: “the sounds that haunt me at night.”

While another said: “Wish more of these sounds was in the show. My only complaint. More clickers.”

“Alright, you’ve convinced me. I’ll play the Last of Us for the very first time this year. I’m terrified of zombies but this… will be the flashback moment when I hear it all in the game and I’ll have little chuckle for fear relief. Voice actors / actresses are brilliant,” a third added.
