Katherine Ryan Says Famous TV Star Is A ‘Predator’ And Everyone In Industry Knows

Comedian Katherine Ryan has made a shocking claim that a well-known entertainer in the TV industry is a s**ual predator.

Ryan is a well-known comedian who has appeared in the likes of 8 Out of 10 Cats, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, A League of Their Own, Mock the Week, Would I Lie to You?, QI, Just a Minute, Safeword, and Have I Got News for You.

Ryan has also had her own Netflix show, The Duchess. But recently, the star was a guest on an episode of Louis Theroux’s BBC Interviews series. While there, Ryan spoke candidly with the journalist about an “open secret” in the TV business.

In the groundbreaking interview, she calls out a man in the entertainment industry for his predatory behaviour.

She told Theroux: “It’s very dangerous for us to have this conversation.

“I’m happy to have it, but it’s a litigious minefield because lots of people have tried to nail this person down for their alleged crimes and this person has very good lawyers, so am I going to put my mortgage on the line by saying who this person is or entering into any conversations like that?”

She added: “We’ve seen what happens to people who talk about alleged predators.”

The comedian continued by asserting that she had not herself been a victim. She is aware, though, that the unidentified comic is renowned for acting in a particular manner.

Ryan continued: “It’s not really my story to tell. No one has perpetrated any s**ual assault against me, but this person, I believe very strongly – many people believe very strongly – is an open secret, is a perpetrator of s**ual assault.”

She continued by saying that she had challenged the nameless person about their behaviour when they worked alongside each other on a TV show one time.

She alleged: “I called him a predator to his face and in front of everyone that day.

“What am I supposed to do? It’s such a messy thing because I don’t have proof. What, am I not supposed to feed my children because of someone else?”

“I still got paid and I still did my job, but I did it in my way, which I thought was fair,” Ryan added.

People have since urged Ryan to identify the accused predator on Twitter after hearing her statements.

One wrote: “Katherine Ryan should name the predator so the police can stop him.”

While another commented: “Katherine Ryan needs to name and shame this s**ual predator.”

However, another countered: “KATHERINE RYAN SHOULD NAME THE PREDATOR SO THE POLICE CAN STOP HIM shout those oblivious to a)men with means using litigation to silence and intimidate and b)less than 1% of reported rapes end in conviction. Women use whisper networks because they’re our only means of protection.”

Speaking out about her decision not to name the person, one wrote: “But at least she has ‘highlighted’ this.

“She says it’s ‘open secret’ on a TV show. Therefore where’s everyone else? Why has no one else ‘highlighted’ this? She knew the attention this would receive, whilst protecting her family. I applaud her, well done Katherine.”
