It comes as a part of a new documentary titled The Curious Case of Natalia Grace. It is set to tell the tale of how a couple from Indiana named Michael and Krisadopted a ‘6-year-old’ Ukranian orphan back in 2010.

Soon after adopting the girl, the couple became suspicious of her origins, and went so far as accusing her of plotting to bring physical harm to their family.

Following the accusations, the bombshell claim that Natalia, who has a form of dwarfism called spondyloepiphyseal, was merely posing as a child and was in fact an adult being fuelled by malicious intentions, as per People.

In the trailer for the new docuseries, Michael says: “You’re gonna get the truth. I will pre-warn you, you might not like the truth.”

Later on in the trailer, he can be seen shouting: “We were all abused!”

Before the trailer is over, viewers see Michael exploding as he punches the floor repeatedly.

The Barnetts claim that Natalia attempted to harm their entire family during her time with them, including reportedly trying to poison Kristine’s coffee and kill her by dragging her towards an electric fence. She also faced accusations of placing clear thumb tacks on the stairs in order to get the family to step on them.

Michael earlier revealed to Good Morning America that doctors had warned him that Natalia was a ‘sociopath’.

This person is a con artist. You are all in danger,” he recollected being told.

The family petitioned Marion County Probate Court to have Natalia’s age changed from 6 to twenty-two back in 2012, and therefore change her birth year from 2002 to 1989.

The year after, the Barnetts left Natalia alone in an apartment in Lafayette after they moved to Canada without her. As a result of this, the couple were later charged with neglect of a dependent. Thanks to the court ordered age change, prosecutors couldn’t charge the pair with neglect of a minor.

Natalia revealed that she wanted to live with the Barnetts during Michael’s trial, and did not want to be left in Lafayette.

Michael was found not guilty on all counts back in 2022, and the charges against Kristine have also been dropped, People reports.

However, it still appears that Natalia’s age is contested by everyone involved. Hopefully, the new documentary will reveal the truths to this fascinating tale.

The Curious Case of Natalia Grace is set to air in 3 parts on ID from May 29.
