Johnny Depp, known for his acting career and occasional appearances at events like the Savage X Fenty show and Cannes, is also a musician who performs with the band Hollywood Vampires, alongside Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, and Tommy Henriksen.
The band had several tour dates scheduled for the summer; however, due to a “painful” injury that Depp has suffered, some of those shows have been postponed.
Taking to Instagram Story on May 29, Depp shared the unfortunate news with his fans. He wrote, “My Dear Friends, I am sorry to say that I have fractured my ankle, which is a drag!!! It started as a hairline fracture, but somewhere between Cannes and the Royal Albert Hall, it worsened instead of getting better. Multiple medical professionals have strongly advised me to avoid any and all activity for the time being, and therefore, I am sadly unable to travel at this time.” He expressed his regrets about missing the shows in New Hampshire, Boston, and New York, but assured fans that they would deliver an amazing performance in Europe and make it up to those who had purchased tickets. He concluded with heartfelt apologies and signed off with “All my love and respect… J.D. x.”
The affected shows have been rescheduled to new dates at the end of July. The band also addressed the situation on their Instagram, sharing a post that read, “We are sad to share that the Hollywood Vampires will be rescheduling our three US tour dates this coming week. Johnny has sustained a painful injury to his ankle following his recent appearances and has been advised by his doctor not to travel. He is devastated by this turn of events but looks forward to resting up so all four Vampires can bring their absolute best to the tour in Europe.”
Fans of Depp and the Hollywood Vampires are undoubtedly disappointed by the news, as they were eagerly anticipating the upcoming shows.
However, they understand that Depp’s health and well-being are of utmost importance. The band members are dedicated to delivering an outstanding performance once Depp has had sufficient time to recover and heal from his injury.
