Lady Gaga Faces Backlash For ‘Tasteless’ Instagram Post

Lady Gaga has caused a humongous outrage amongst her fans after posting what has been called a ‘tasteless’ sponsored post on her Instagram.

The star has faced criticism over the post from her normally loyal army of fans, who took to the post’s comments section to let the singer know how they felt.

“Girl what the hell is this,” one person wrote.

Another said: “Baby you don’t need money this badly…”

Now, Gaga rocked onto the pop scene way back in 2008 after years of trying to break through. Her first album The Fame saw phenomenal success, with its first 2 lead singles ‘Just Dance’ and the aforementioned ‘Poker Face’ hitting number 1 in not just America, but also the UK, Australia and Canada.

The star has gone from strength to strength, with hit songs such as ‘Bad Romance’, ‘Born This Way’ and ‘Applause’ all finding chart success. She even went on to do a collaborative album with jazz legend Tony Bennett called Cheek to Cheek.

Aside from her musical prowess, Gaga is known for her rather wacky style. From the meat dress to her firework bra, the star is no stranger to a wardrobe stunt. However, she surprised fans with her more toned back looks during her Joanna album era, and her subsequent success in A Star Is Born. She even nabbed an Oscar for the latter, thanks to the movie’s smash hit song ‘Shallow’.

So, it’s understandable that Gaga has amassed one of the biggest fanbases on the planet, but recently they weren’t happy after she shared a post sponsored by pharmaceutical company Pfeizer to her Instagram.

The post read: “Ever since childhood, I’ve dealt with migraine pain. When I tried Nurtec® ODT (rimegepant) 75 mg for the first time, I’ll never forget wishing I had found it sooner. That’s why I’m proud to partner with Nurtec ODT.

“We’re in this together. If you’re ready to speak to a doctor, ask about Nurtec ODT today.”

It additionally provided further information about the medicine, and detailed that it was intended for US audiences only.

One quick look at the comments section makes it immediately clear that the star’s fanbase, known as Little Monsters, are not happy.

“No. Just no. What the hell is this?? The nonstop makeup posts are bad enough,” one fan wrote, referring to Gaga’s promotion of her own makeup brand, Haus Labs.

A second commented: “Y’all who approved this – this is very cringy.”

While a third put: “Is she poor? Why is she posting ads for medicine.”

A fourth said: “Little Monsters will remember this day forever”

A fifth put: “I can’t believe that this hasn’t been deleted yet.”

However, other fans took to the star’s defence, with one writing: “People in the comments need to grow up and be kind.”

A second wrote: “All I’m saying is Gaga has fibromyalgia. This ad may actually help people struggling with similar symptoms.”
