Singer Meghan Trainor announced she welcomed her second child with husband Daryl Sabara on July 4.
The singer announced that she was pregnant back in January during her appearance on TODAY, and fans later found out she was having a boy when Trainor revealed all on The Kelly Clarkson Show in April.
Trainor and Sabara also share 2-year-old son, Riley.
On Tuesday, she took to Instagram to share the incredible news. Trainor included a snapshot of herself in a hospital bed in the post along with a couple images of her newborn son.
“On July 1st (our 7 year anniversary of our first date) we welcomed Barry Bruce Trainor into the world,” she wrote in the caption of the post.
“He was a big boy at 8lbs 7oz…and sideways (transverse), but we had an amazing, successful c-section, and I finally got my skin to skin time!” Trainor said, adding: “Thank you to all of the incredible doctors and nurses who took such great care of us.”
Trainor’s famous pals expressed their support for her in the comments, with Paris Hilton writing, “Congratulations sis! So happy for you!,” and Mandy Moore, who commented, “Go Mama!! And welcome to the party, Barry!! What a lucky dude!!”
Thousands more took to the comment section to share their well wishes to the star, with one writing: “Omgggggg CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! He is so perfect!!! Hope you are feeling well!!!! God Bless.”
While another gushed: “A perfect beautiful icon, legend, star born into the most wonderful family possible! Congrats.”
“Awwww so cute, I’m so happy for you Megan. I’m a big fan of your songs!!! Congratulations on being a mother of 2 now!!!” a third added.
According to Trainor, when she was just 10 weeks pregnant, she and Sabara chose a name for their second child. She revealed all in a phone conversation with TODAY.com back in May.
“We’re very fast. We’re like, ‘This is what it will be’ and then we start introducing my stomach as the name,” she said.
Trainor clarified that she chose not to “tell the world” because she had been forewarned that she would face harsh criticism online.
