Australian Woman Says She Thinks There Are ‘Too Many American Flags’ In America

It’s not unusual to see a patriotic flag or two when visiting another country, but for one Australian woman, the number of American flags in America was just far too much.

In the now-deleted TikTok, Aussie Mia was walking down a suburban street and was taken aback by the amount of stars and stripes she had come across.

“I’m just gonna say it… there are too many American flags,” she said in the clip, per VT. “They’re on houses, they’re on cars… saw them on couch cushions.”

“You’re the only country that I know that does this,” she continued.

“The only time I’ve seen an Australian flag is on the [Sydney] Harbour Bridge… [I] could not tell you what it looks like. I know it’s, like, blue and it’s got some stars on it. I think I could draw the American flag from memory…

“I think I can make a bloody sculpture out of it. That’s how many bloody times I’ve seen it.”

She went on to suggest that Americans could reduce their reliance on the flag by toning things down: “It’s enough. Let’s stay humble.”

However, Americans don’t seem to be too pleased about Mia’s observations.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott put his thoughts simply: “Go back to Australia.”

Although Mia’s TikTok account has since vanished, her video gained traction on Twitter, where people have been ruthless in sharing their opinions.

“If you don’t want to see American flags, don’t come to America,” one person wrote.

A second said: “Gee…I wonder why so many US flags in the US. You can always stay in Australia.”

A third wrote: “To be completely honest, that was a culture shock for me too when I first visited. I do LOVE the patriotism you guys have and haven’t seen it in many other countries.”
