Callum Jones has raised concerns that he and Jess Gale might be on the verge of a breakup as he confessed that their relationship still hasn’t become ‘official’.

The pair emerged as runners-up on Love Island All Stars, narrowly missing out on the top spot to Callum’s former flame Molly Smith and her partner Tom Clare.

During an appearance on the Love Island: The Morning After podcast, 27-year-old Callum disclosed that he and 24-year-old Jess haven’t yet taken the step to become boyfriend and girlfriend. When asked by host Indiyah Polack about their official status, Callum responded, “No, do you know what, we’re so compatible.”

He went on to share, “I feel like we’ve got a couple of dates planned on the outside. That hotel in London. She loves surprises. Me not so much…” Jess chimed in, saying, “Callum said it is going to be a surprise… I’m very excited for a surprise!”

Addressing speculations that Callum might still harbor feelings for his ex Molly, Jess recently spoke out.

During their time on the ITV series, viewers rooted for Molly, 29, and Callum, 27, to reignite their romance, especially after they ended their three-year relationship just six months prior to entering the villa.

Molly, who triumphed in the final alongside her new partner Tom Clare, 24, was taken aback to learn that the public was rooting for a reunion between her and Callum, as revealed by Dani Dyer, Olivia Attwood, and Bradley Dack during the series.

Reflecting on the situation, Jess expressed, “Obviously when I first heard I was very shocked by it. And I thought was there anything I was overlooking? I didn’t want to be naive.”

“I was scared of being perceived as really bad if Callum and Molly were this ‘love story’ and I was standing in the way. So yeah I was a bit nervous about the whole thing. But Callum was very reassuring and he put it to bed quickly. So it was smooth running after that.”

Callum added, “Yeah even after the first week or two we were friends and to be fair I’m glad we kind of got that friendship. I know people maybe have seen past the friendship because they want the fairytale but that sometimes doesn’t happen.”

“Life is too short, it takes more energy to be bad with someone to be negative, than it does to get on with life. Life goes on.”

Despite Tom and Molly clinching the victory, Callum and Jess weren’t far behind in the race for the crown.

Recent voting percentages have revealed that Callum and Jess narrowly missed out on the win during the grand finale by a margin of two percent.

Tom and Molly secured the £50,000 prize after garnering 35 percent of the public vote, as reported by The Sun.

Callum’s former flame and his current partner received just under at 33 percent, while Sophie and Josh, who secured third place, amassed 15 percent of viewer votes.

Georgia Steel and Toby Aromolaran received backing from 10 percent of voters, leaving Georgia Harrison and Anton Danyluk in last place with only seven percent of votes.
