Georgia Steel has decided to take a hiatus from social media due to experiencing “nasty” trolling following her appearance on Love Island All Stars. Throughout her time in the villa, Georgia found herself entangled in a romantic triangle with Callum Jones, Toby Aromolaran, and Tom Clare.

Ultimately, Georgia coupled up with Toby and the pair secured fourth place. However, upon returning to the UK, Georgia faced a barrage of cruel comments on social media, prompting her to abstain from posting anything on Instagram.

Despite her strong bond with Toby, Georgia has opted to step back from social media to clear her mind after being overwhelmed by the harsh criticism from trolls. A source disclosed to MailOnline: “Georgia felt like she needed to take a bit of an extended social detox; she was really quite shocked when she heard about the trolling she received while she was in the villa and wants to keep offline for a bit.”

The source further explained the impact of the negative comments on Georgia’s friends and family, highlighting the importance of her well-being. Despite the ordeal, Georgia remains content with Toby and appreciates the online support she has received.

Confirming her social media hiatus, a representative for Georgia told OK!: “It’s true Georgia is taking some time away from social media. Trolling is unacceptable and there should be no place for it. Georgia will be back when she feels the time is right.”

During her time on the show, Georgia’s social media team addressed the “vile threats” she had received and emphasised the harmful effects of online trolling. Fellow Love Island alumna Shaughna Phillips defended Georgia in her OK! column, attributing her behavior to the intense pressure of the Love Island environment.

Phillips expressed her support for Georgia and Toby’s relationship, acknowledging the challenges they faced in the villa. She emphasised that Georgia’s character shouldn’t be judged solely based on her actions in the heightened atmosphere of the show.
