Lip Reader Works Out What Emma Stone Said About Jimmy Kimmel At Oscars

Emma Stone’s reaction during Jimmy Kimmel’s opening monologue at the Oscars has sparked buzz on social media, with viewers speculating about her response to Kimmel’s jokes.

Returning to host the 2024 Academy Awards, Kimmel didn’t hold back with his humour, taking jabs at various celebrities and topics. One of his targets was Robert Downey Jr., referencing the actor’s past struggles with substance abuse. Kimmel joked, “This is the highest point of Robert Downey Jr’s long and illustrious career. Well, one of the highest points,” before quipping, “Is that an acceptance speech in your pocket or do you just have a very rectangular p*nis?”

Another target of Kimmel’s humour was Greta Gerwig, director of “Barbie.” Kimmel teased the Academy for not nominating her, saying, “I know you’re clapping, but you’re the ones who didn’t vote for her.”

Following these jokes, a clip showed Emma Stone from her film “Poor Things,” prompting Kimmel to jest, “Those were all the parts of Poor Things we were allowed to show on TV.” Viewers speculated that Stone muttered, “He’s a p***k,” in response to Kimmel’s comment, earning her praise for being candid.

While Kimmel’s monologue elicited laughs from the audience, some criticised its length. One viewer tweeted, “Jimmy Kimmel Full Oscar Speech (3hrs 23mins),” while another expressed impatience, saying, “How long is Jimmy Kimmel’s speech going to be can he wrap this up now?”

Despite mixed reactions to Kimmel’s hosting, the Oscars celebrated cinematic excellence, honouring notable films and performances from the past year. Here is the complete list of winners for the 2024 Oscars.
