With public curiosity heightened due to her reduced public appearances, the new photo portrays Middleton appearing well, surrounded by her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Accompanied by a message signed off by Kate herself, the caption read, “Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day. C.”
Observers noted the absence of both Kate’s engagement and wedding rings in the image, prompting questions that remained unanswered by Kensington Palace. While it’s not uncommon for the Princess to forego her engagement ring, particularly during active engagements, speculation arose regarding the reason for omitting her wedding band. Town and Country speculated that she may have removed it prior to surgery to alleviate discomfort from potential swelling. The photo was reportedly taken by William at their home.
Kensington Palace reiterated their stance on providing updates about Middleton’s health, emphasising that significant changes would prompt communication. In February, they stated, “Kensington Palace made it clear in January the timelines of the Princess’ recovery and we’d only be providing significant updates. That guidance stands.”
