Billy Baldwin Slammed For Response to Sharon Stone Naming Producer Who Pressured Her To Sleep With Him

Billy Baldwin has faced criticism for his response to Sharon Stone’s revelation about the producer who allegedly pressured her to sleep with him.

Stone, renowned for her roles in Basic Instinct and Casino, disclosed in her 2021 memoir The Beauty of Living Twice that she felt coerced into having a sexual encounter with the second-youngest Baldwin brother during the filming of the 1993 thriller Sliver.

In a recent appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast, Stone, now 66, identified former actor turned-producer Robert Evans as the individual who purportedly encouraged her to engage in sexual relations with Baldwin, who was 61 at the time. Evans passed away in 2019.

“He called me to his office,” Stone recounted. “He had these very low seventies, eighties couches, so I’m essentially sitting on the floor, when I should have been on set. He’s running around his office in his sunglasses explaining to me that he slept with Ava Gardner and I should sleep with Billy Baldwin, because if I slept with Billy Baldwin, Billy Baldwin’s performance would get better. And we needed Billy to get better in the movie because that was the problem.”

In response to Stone’s account, Baldwin took to Twitter, questioning why Stone continued to reference him years later. He insinuated that Stone may still harbor feelings for him or may be nursing old wounds from his alleged rejection of her advances.

Baldwin’s tweet sparked backlash from some users, who found his remarks harsh and disrespectful towards Stone. Critics deemed his response conceited and misogynistic, urging him to show more restraint and sensitivity in his interactions, particularly when discussing sensitive matters involving women.

As the controversy unfolded, Baldwin hinted at the possibility of writing a tell-all book to reveal alleged “disturbing, kinky, and unprofessional” anecdotes about Stone, further intensifying the backlash against his initial comments.
