Brookside actress Tina Malone has announced the passing of her husband, Paul Chase, in a heartbreaking social media post.
Tina, 61, and Paul, who was in his early forties, tied the knot in 2010. After 11 years together, they announced their separation in 2019. However, the couple reconciled their marriage in February 2020. In a deeply saddening update, Tina shared the news of Paul’s death on March 13.
“It’s with total heartbreak I write this my husband Paul Chase Malone passed away this morning we are totally devastated,” Tina, known for her role in Shameless, expressed.
Fans flooded the comment section with tributes and condolences for the bereaved actress. One user conveyed, “Sorry to hear this. Sending my love and deepest condolences.” Another shared, “So sorry for yours and your families loss. Sending strength at this difficult time,” while a fan expressed, “So sorry to hear this Tina sending my love to you and your family.”
After their separation, Tina announced the news of their split herself on social media. She wrote, “With great sadness I wrote this myself and Paul have split up after 11 yrs together!” Fortunately, the couple found their way back to each other several months later.
In 2020, Tina revealed that their relationship had returned to normal, emphasizing that their “love never went away.” The couple shares a daughter named Flame, now 11, whom Tina welcomed at the age of 50. Tina also has a daughter named Danielle from a previous marriage, resulting in a 32-year age gap between her two children.
In a candid interview with Closer magazine, Tina reflected on the challenges in her marriage, attributing some of the difficulties to depression. She acknowledged that pulling together rather than falling apart ultimately saved their relationship.
“The love never went away, we’re working on things now,” Tina explained. “Our problems were compounded by depression, but I learned that in tough times you have to pull together and not apart.”
Tina Malone gained fame for her roles as Mimi Maguire in Shameless and Mo McGee in Brookside. She has also made appearances on Loose Women alongside her husband.
