James Bond Fans have Same Concern about Aaron Taylor-Johnson Being Cast to Play 007

Amidst swirling rumours of the next James Bond casting, enthusiasts are abuzz discussing the speculated 007.

It seems the eagerly anticipated successor to Daniel Craig may have been chosen, marking three years since the release of the last Bond instalment, No Time to Die. As per reports from The Sun, Aaron Taylor-Johnson ‘has been formally offered the opportunity to play James Bond’.

The 33-year-old actor’s official confirmation remains pending, as it’s unclear if he has accepted the potential offer. However, if Taylor-Johnson takes up the mantle, he would be the eighth actor to portray the iconic spy since the inception of the franchise.

Recognisable from his roles in Kick-Ass, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Godzilla, and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, Taylor-Johnson’s versatility has intrigued both fans and producers.

A source revealed, “Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table, and they are waiting to hear back. As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days, and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”

Opinions among 007 enthusiasts are split regarding Taylor-Johnson’s potential portrayal of the beloved character.

While many believe he would be a stellar choice, praising his Bond-like appearance and impressive career trajectory, others express reservations, particularly concerning his voice.

“I can go for ATJ as Bond, Ives from Tenet showed me the way. He doesn’t have your typical Bond ‘voice’ but I’m with it,” remarked one viewer, highlighting Taylor-Johnson’s distinct vocal tone.

Despite lingering uncertainties, reports from 2023 suggested Bond producer Barbara Broccoli was impressed with Taylor-Johnson following a screen test for the role. Furthermore, rumours circulated last year that Christopher Nolan, known for his work on Tenet, would direct the next Bond film, potentially collaborating with Taylor-Johnson once again.
