We Now Know Why William Didn’t Appear Alongside Wife Kate In Cancer Announcement

Following major abdominal surgery at the London Clinic in January, which coincided with the King’s prostate procedure, the Princess took a step back from the public eye to focus on her recovery.

According to a source cited by the Sunday Times, the decision to share her cancer diagnosis via video was a testament to her strength and the importance of conveying a reassuring message to the nation. The source noted, “This was her as a strong woman sharing an innately strong message to the nation. She didn’t need anyone sitting next to her. He has been supporting her and the family in the background.”

Choosing a video message over a written statement was a deliberate choice for the Princess, aiming to provide a more compassionate and personal approach. A source revealed, “A written statement, she felt, would be too jarring. It was about people seeing her, and her reassuring people that she was positive about it. Knowing it was news that was going to shock people, she wanted to do it as compassionately as possible.”

In light of her diagnosis, the Princess has commenced “preventative chemotherapy” and has appealed for privacy as she undergoes treatment and prioritises her role as a mother to her young family. King Charles has commended his daughter-in-law’s bravery, recognising the challenges ahead for the Princess of Wales.

During their hospital stays, the King demonstrated his support by frequently visiting his beloved daughter-in-law, underscoring the close bond they share.
