Chris Hemsworth’s Heartbreaking Plan After Upsetting Alzheimer’s News

During the filming of his Disney+ docuseries Limitless, Chris Hemsworth received sobering news that he is at a significantly higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease compared to the general population, reportedly “between eight and 10 times” more likely. This revelation has spurred the actor to embark on a new venture.

According to Woman’s Day magazine, Hemsworth’s concern for his family’s future, particularly the thought of his children caring for him, has prompted him to delve deeper into life’s reflections. A source revealed, “His biggest worry was his family and knowing there will be a day when his kids will be looking after him. It’s given him a much deeper perspective on life.”

After turning 40 last August, Hemsworth began contemplating ideas for his memoir. However, it wasn’t until recently, following the revelation about his Alzheimer’s risk, that he took concrete steps towards the project. He has reportedly enlisted the expertise of Matt Martin from Creative Arts Agency (CAA), renowned for his involvement in script transactions.

The actor aims to ensure his memoir is not just another mundane celebrity account but rather a meaningful exploration of modern fatherhood and maintaining well-being. He intends to collaborate with a CAA ghostwriter to bring his thoughts to life on the page.

While Hemsworth has no immediate plans to retire from acting, he is adopting a more selective approach to his projects. Reflecting on his decision to scale back, he shared with ET in 2023, “I’ve been running from project to project for a long time, just to avoid being unemployed or that fear that it’s the last job you’ll get, you know?”

In a candid interview with Vanity Fair the same year, Hemsworth disclosed the impact of his increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease. He revealed that discovering he belongs to the small percentage of individuals with two copies of the APOE4 gene prompted him to prioritize a healthier lifestyle.

Acknowledging the emotional toll of this revelation, Hemsworth remarked, “very quickly it became a self-deprecating sort of joke, if you will. It’s just the way I am, my family, there’s a sense of humor.” However, the idea of potentially losing memories of his loved ones, including wife Elsa Pataky and their three children, remains his greatest fear.

Currently residing in a $30 million mansion in Broken Head, near Byron Bay, Australia, Hemsworth and his family enjoy a luxurious lifestyle amidst stunning surroundings. The property boasts various amenities, including a gymnasium, fire pit, and outdoor play area, providing an idyllic backdrop for family life.
