Visitors Stunned At Prices of Food And Drink at Coachella

Coachella attendees are taking to social media to express shock and dismay over the steep prices of food and drinks at the festival.

Amidst the excitement of surprise appearances and performances, some festival-goers couldn’t ignore the reality of the hefty costs associated with sustenance and refreshments at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

While festival food is rarely known for its affordability, Coachella’s reputation for attracting influencers and celebrities seems to exacerbate the already high prices prevalent across the US.

Despite facing backlash in 2023 for the exorbitant cost of food and drinks, ticket prices have remained substantial, ranging from $499 to $599 (excluding fees), similar to previous years.

TikToker Jackie Tanti, known as @jackietanti, shared her experience from last year, where she paid a jaw-dropping $64 for two burritos and a coffee. This year, her near-identical order came with the same hefty price tag, highlighting the consistency of the festival’s pricing.

In a recent video, Jackie showcased the large burritos accompanied by an unappetizing sauce, emphasizing her disbelief at the price she paid once again: $64. Reflecting on her purchase, she mused, “Capitalism is crazy, and I am a part of the problem.”

Responses to her post echoed her sentiments, with one user expressing incredulity, commenting, “That’s insane,” while another simply remarked, “F**kin wild.”

Jackie’s experience is not isolated, as another attendee shared a photo on X showcasing the steep prices of drinks at the festival, prompting commentary on the exorbitant costs of living in the US.

One user pointed out the widespread issue of inflated prices across the country, noting that taxes and tips could further increase the final amount by up to 30 percent.

Meanwhile, another X user highlighted the staggering price of pizza at Coachella, with a whole large pie priced at $65, accompanied by a $9 lemonade, prompting a lighthearted suggestion to “enjoy” without checking prices.
