Why Tom Cruise Isn’t Celebrating His Daughter Suri’s 18th Birthday

Tom Cruise won’t be joining his daughter Suri for her 18th birthday celebrations this Thursday, as he’s currently in London filming his latest blockbuster, “Mission Impossible 8.”

Pictured in London on Wednesday, the 61-year-old movie star was all smiles as he navigated a helicopter, one of his preferred modes of transport, between the UK countryside and London for filming.

Meanwhile, Suri, who lives in New York with her mother Katie Holmes, will be marking her milestone birthday without her father, with whom she has been estranged since 2013, a year after Tom and Katie divorced.

The occasion also marks the conclusion of Tom’s reported $400,000 annual child support payment to Katie, as stipulated in their divorce agreement.

Tom and Suri’s last public outing together was a trip to Disneyland in 2012, the year Tom’s divorce from Katie was finalized. Their split was reportedly prompted by Katie’s concerns about raising Suri within Tom’s dedication to Scientology.

Since then, their relationship has grown increasingly distant, with Tom reportedly not having any involvement in Suri’s life, according to insider sources.

Despite the estrangement, Tom is obligated to financially support Suri as per the divorce agreement, covering her expenses, including education. Suri is reportedly considering studying fashion in New York, and Tom’s agreement is said to include provisions for her college tuition.

While Tom focuses on his career, Suri is flourishing under Katie’s care, displaying interests in fashion and music. Her wardrobe, reportedly valued at $5 million, reflects her passion for style, and she has showcased her musical talents in her mother’s films.

Katie has nurtured Suri’s individuality, describing her as strong-willed and hardworking. Despite Tom’s absence, Katie remains dedicated to providing Suri with a loving and supportive environment, prioritizing her daughter’s well-being above all else.
